Connecting a domain

Step-by-step guide to pointing a custom domain at a project, database or Quick App on Lexoya.

Steps to connect a domain

To point your own domain at a project, database or Quick App on Lexoya:
  1. Buy a domain and move it to a DNS provider. Register the domain with any registrar, then add it to a DNS provider such as Cloudflare or ArvanCloud.
  2. Create an A record. In your DNS panel add a new A record and enter your domain in the Name field. To send every subdomain to the project as well, use a wildcard (*).
  3. Turn the proxy on. Enable your provider's proxy so it manages the TLS/SSL certificate for you. In Cloudflare, the cloud icon turns orange once the proxy is active.
  4. Add the domain in Lexoya. Open the project settings, go to the domains section and add the hostname, for example api.example.com.
DNS changes can take a few minutes to propagate. Until the new record is live, the domain will not resolve to your project.

Cluster IP addresses

Use the address that matches your project's cluster when you create the A record:
